Edelweiss Air reaches new heights

Edelweiss Air carried a total of 703 000 passengers in 2009, some 25% more than in the prior-year period. In a tough economic and business environment, the airline’s encouraging traffic performance is a testament to its partnership with SWISS and its ability to offer a quality product that is carefully tailored to leisure travellers’ needs. Edelweiss Air also earned two key distinctions, from the readers of ReiseBlick magazine and in the annual Travel Star industry awards.
SWISS customers can now book individual seats on Edelweiss Air flights

Marrakech, Tenerife, Cancun, Male and Varadero are just some of the 15 destinations that SWISS customers will now be able to fly to on Edelweiss Air. Under the growing collaboration between the two carriers, SWISS customers can now book individual seats on Edelweiss Air flights. Miles & More miles can now also be earned and redeemed on all Edelweiss Air services with a SWISS flight number.
Kuoni and SWISS enter into strategic partnership

Kuoni Travel Holding Ltd. and Swiss International Air Lines are to embark on a comprehensive strategic partnership. The customers of both companies will benefit from the wider range of products and services that the collaboration should provide. The partnership will also enable Kuoni and SWISS to focus on their respective core competencies. Kuoni will offer its range of hotels via SWISS.COM, and SWISS will acquire Kuoni’s leisure airline Edelweiss Air.
