Edelweiss Air AG was founded in Bassersdorf on 19 October 1995. In November 2008, Edelweiss was integrated into the Lufthansa Group and is thus, today, an affiliate of SWISS. The Edelweiss head office is at Zurich Airport; the company’s Chief Executive Officer is Karl Kistler. The share capital of Edelweiss is CHF 3 500 000; the shares are not listed on the stock exchange. In 2012, Edelweiss flew approximately 1.2 million passengers to the most beautiful holiday destinations in 28 countries throughout the world.
