Dalaman – Where time stands still in Turkey

Dalaman – Where time stands still in Turkey

The moment you step out of the airport of Dalaman, you are welcomed by the scents of sun-kissed streets. Dalaman, the charming little town on the western Mediterranean coast, is a real insider tip for a relaxing holiday. Enjoy the manifold sights that Dalaman has to offer, including ancient city ruins, the chirping of the cicadas and romantic boat tours, and relax on a holiday away from it all.

Turkey- warm sand under your feet and a wealth of historical landmarks to discover

Delightful villages with idyllic garden restaurants that serve delicious fresh fish; abandoned cities, decayed into ruins, yet possessing a unique charm. As you sit on your terrace admiring the starry night sky and sipping on a glass of cold Ayran (Turkish yoghurt drink), you may well be convinced that Dalaman is the place where time stands still. Easy-going, idyllic and rich in cultural highlights: that is perhaps the best way to describe a holiday in Dalaman.

Excursion to Dalyan: a different way to enjoy the sights

From Daylan, a small village a stone’s throw from the town of Dalaman, hop on a wooden Gulet boat and cruise through the river delta past charming waterfront properties, marvelling at the fascinating Lycian graves of Kaunos hewn into the face of a cliff.

Watch as your Gulet glides past weathered wooden sluices whilst sipping on a glass of iced lemonade. Ask to be dropped off at the beach to take a refreshing dip in the deep blue sea. After a long, sundrenched day, why not dance the night away in the Sweet Dancing Bar or simply let your feet dangle in the water.

Dalaman: idyllic holiday in Turkey

Imagine this: scooting along on a moped through beautiful Mediterranean landscapes to idyllic bays. Your hair ruffled by the wind and your skin kissed by the sun. Don’t miss the chance to visit a hamam (Turkish bath) where you will be scrubbed and lathered in soap and can relish the luxury of sinking into mountains of scented foam. And how about a relaxing boat trip where you can spend hours on the water, swimming and snorkelling to your heart’s desire!

White-golden beaches, pine forests and fig trees. Charming garden restaurants invite you to sit under paper lanterns and decorative light chains and look out onto the water. Small souvenir shops and artfully knotted carpets, mosques and goats.

Whether you choose Patara, Phaselis, Olympos, Kalkan or Kabak for your idyllic holiday, or decide to spend enchanted nights in Butterfly Valley: Turkey’s western Mediterranean coast offers the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday enriched by the breathtaking beauty of nature.
